Chad Daversa, Executive Director

Chad Daversa was a 2000 Graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where he earned an MA in English.  After graduation, Mr. Daversa served adjunct faculty at Front Range Community College in Longmont Colorado and an administrator for the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) based in Boulder.  Upon relocating back in Pittsburgh, PA, 30 miles from the town where he grew up, Chad began his involvement with the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD), starting with the organization in the role of Program Coordinator in 2002.

Working under the direction of the first elected ISBD President, Dr. Samuel Gershon, Mr. Daversa developed a general knowledge and background in bipolar illness and the ISBD.   Mr. Daversa would go onto become the Assistant Director on August 1, 2004 and ultimately the Executive Director later that year.  Working with ISBD has been a professional and personal challenge and continues to be an incredibly rewarding experience for Mr. Daversa, and since joining the Society, he has been both moved and motivated by the enthusiasm, dedication, and conviction of the collective effort of the ISBD Officers and members to help improve the lives of those living with bipolar disorder.

Outside of ISBD, Mr. Daversa is a father, husband and avid jazz guitar enthusiast and aspiring musician.

Jill Olds,
Membership & Outreach Director

Jill joined the ISBD team as the Outreach Support Assistant in October 2013 on a part-time basis.  Since that time Jill has played an integral role in the organization’s involvement with World Bipolar Day and social media in addition to many other projects.  We are happy to announce that as of May 2014 Jill is now a full time member of the ISBD team.

Ms. Olds is a graduate of Hiram College, receiving a Bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Communications and English/Creative Writing.  After graduation, Jill worked as a retail manager in Jamestown, NY and was then promoted to a store here in Pittsburgh, PA.  Ms. Olds then changed her career path to that of the nonprofit sector, dabbling in development, program coordination and program management.

Outside of work you can find Jill playing the piano, cooking, or spending time with her wonderful husband and adorable daughter.
